Over the summer of 2014, the California Historical Society (CHS) explored a potential role as the lead development partner in the rehabilitation of the Old U.S. Mint, an 1874 National Historic Landmark owned by the City of San Francisco. EHDD led the efforts to analyze the existing organization - it’s facilities and needs - and to assess the proposed building - both the rehabilitation work required and scenarios for it’s potential future inhabitation.
The result of the work was a report containing both technical analysis and an extensive graphic appendix of test fits and precedents. The work helped the California Historical Society to negotiate a successful bid to relocate.
